How the Spaced-Repetition AI Skills Tracker gate works
How the Spaced-Repetition AI Skills Tracker grades each AI skill's freshness — FRESH, FADING, or COLD — and rolls your whole practice up to the worst: any skill gone cold reads ESCALATE, and a critical-cold gate names a critical one ahead of the rest, so a mostly-fresh set still needs attention now. A row whose date cannot be read is never counted as fresh: with nothing FADING or COLD, the week reads CHECK DATES instead of ON TRACK.
How the gate works
This tool grades your AI skills against a spaced-repetition schedule — each one fresh, fading, or gone cold. It reads 6 skills and rolls them into one verdict — the worst, never the average. Then comes the critical-cold gate, which does not move that verdict: when a COLD skill is also flagged business-critical, the Dashboard's gate line reads FIRED and that skill is listed ahead of any other COLD skill.

The verdict bands
A business-critical skill that has gone COLD fires the gate and is named ahead of any other COLD skill. The gate does not move the verdict: any COLD skill, critical or not, already makes the week ESCALATE, however fresh everything else is.
In the worked sample it reads ESCALATE — Three of six skills are FRESH and one is only FADING — on the average this looks like a light review week. But two skills have gone COLD (at or past 2× their interval), and one of them, verifying AI output for errors, is flagged business-critical. The roll-up takes the worst, so the two COLD skills make the week ESCALATE, and the critical one fires the gate and is named ahead of the other. Common questions
Can most skills be FRESH on the Spaced-Repetition AI Skills Tracker and the week still read ESCALATE?
Yes. The roll-up takes the worst of the skills on the sheet, never the average, so a single COLD skill (at or past 2× its review interval) makes the week ESCALATE however fresh the rest are. In the worked sample three of six skills are FRESH and one is only FADING, and it still reads ESCALATE because two skills have gone COLD.
Does the critical-cold gate change the verdict?
No. Any COLD skill, critical or not, has already made the week ESCALATE, so the gate has nothing left to worsen, and it never softens a verdict. It fires when a COLD skill is also flagged business-critical: the Dashboard's gate line reads FIRED and that skill is listed ahead of any other COLD skill. In the worked sample that skill is verifying AI output for errors.
