How the AI Pricing & Quote Intelligence Studio gate works

How the AI Pricing & Quote Intelligence Studio scores each AI-drafted quote and rolls the batch up to its weakest: a two-trigger gate forces DON'T QUOTE on any quote with a fabricated benchmark or below-floor price, so one bad quote makes the batch read PULL A QUOTE.

How the gate works

This tool grades each AI-drafted quote against a weighted soft score plus a two-trigger gate, then rolls the batch up to its weakest quote. It reads 4 quotes and rolls them into one verdict — the worst, never the average — and then a gate that can only make it worse.

The 4 quotes

QuoteVerdict
Enterprise tier — renewalQUOTE-READY100/100 soft · margin 600 vs floor 400 · benchmark real
SMB onboarding packageDON'T QUOTE100/100 soft, yet gate FIRED · benchmark fabricated
Agency retainer — Q3QUOTE-READY78/100 soft · margin 1100 vs floor 900 · benchmark real

The verdict bands

ALL QUOTABLE
every quote reads QUOTE-READY
SHORE UP THE SET
a quote reads SHORE UP, none pulled
PULL A QUOTE
any quote reads DON'T QUOTE
Two-trigger · worsen-only

A weighted soft score (30/25/25/20) sets each quote's band — QUOTE-READY at 75+, SHORE UP at 50+, DON'T QUOTE below. But a fabricated benchmark, or a price whose margin sits under your own floor, forces that quote to DON'T QUOTE no matter how high the score. A single DON'T QUOTE quote pulls the whole batch to PULL A QUOTE — a good average never releases a quote resting on an invented benchmark or one that loses money.

In the worked sample it reads PULL A QUOTETwo of four quotes read QUOTE-READY, and one of the pulled quotes — SMB onboarding — scores a perfect 100 on all four soft signals. But the gate fires twice: SMB's benchmark is fabricated, and the Starter plan's margin of 70 sits under its 100 floor. Either trigger forces DON'T QUOTE regardless of the score, and one pulled quote drops the batch to PULL A QUOTE. The soft score alone would have sent both. The one thing to fix first: Starter plan — discounted: its margin of 70 is under the 100 floor, so it can't be quoted at that price — raise the price above the floor first. SMB is next: replace its fabricated benchmark with a real, cited one to release its gate..

Common questions

Can every quote look survivable on the How the AI Pricing & Quote Intelligence Studio works and the company still read PULL A QUOTE?

Yes. The roll-up takes the worst of 4 quotes — never the average — then a worsen-only gate, the Two-trigger gate, escalates when trouble clusters. In the worked sample it reads PULL A QUOTE because two of four quotes read QUOTE-READY, and one of the pulled quotes — SMB onboarding — scores a perfect 100 on all four soft signals.

What is a worsen-only gate?

A dispositive rule that can only lower a verdict, never raise it. One fatal flaw overrides an otherwise-set of survivable lines, because a single disqualifying gap shouldn't hide behind an average of the healthy ones. The tool also names the one thing to fix first — here, "Starter plan — discounted: its margin of 70 is under the 100 floor, so it can't be quoted at that price — raise the price above the floor first. SMB is next: replace its fabricated benchmark with a real, cited one to release its gate.".

A defensibility working aid that grades a drafted quote — an artifact — from your own numbers and marks. It sets no price, applies no industry multiplier, sends nothing, and scores no person. Not financial advice. Competitive and savings claims can carry FTC substantiation obligations — keep every comparator real and cited.
