Tool Gate · How it works
How the Agent Purchase Relay gate works
How the Agent Purchase Relay scores five stages from finding a store to a confirmed order and takes the minimum, not the mean: a stall gate fires on any stage at or below 40, and, where a stage is short, it names the weakest leg.
How the gate works
This tool grades the path an AI agent would take through your store, stage by stage. Each stage scores 0–100; the pipeline is only as strong as its weakest stage — then a stall gate that can only make it worse. Where a stage is stalled, it names the constraint.
The 5 stages
| Stage | Score |
|---|---|
| 1. Discovery | 90 OPEN AS DESCRIBED |
| 2. Interpretation | 80 OPEN AS DESCRIBED |
| 3. Authorization→ fix with Fix-It Runbook, section 3 | 35 STALLED |
| 4. Conversion | 60 WEAK LEG |
| 5. Verification | 70 WEAK LEG |
The verdict bands
A single stage at or below 40 stops the path no matter how high the others score. The relay is the minimum, not the mean.
In the worked sample it reads STALLED — Four stages run 60–90, so the average (67) looks passable. But Authorization scores 35, and a relay is only as strong as its weakest leg, so the path STALLS. Raise Authorization to 45 and the gate releases to WEAK LEG. Marked fix first on this sample: Stage 3, Authorization: your weakest leg. Work section 3 of the Fix-It Runbook.
Common questions
Can the average look healthy on the Agent Purchase Relay gate and the pipeline still be blocked?
Yes. The pipeline is the minimum of its stages, not the mean; a worsen-only Stall gate blocks on any stalled stage, and where a stage is stalled it names the constraint to clear. In the worked sample it reads STALLED because four stages run 60–90, so the average (67) looks passable. But Authorization scores 35, and a relay is only as strong as its weakest leg, so the path STALLS. Raise Authorization to 45 and the gate releases to WEAK LEG.
What is a worsen-only gate?
A rule that can only lower a verdict, never raise it. One gate-triggering gap overrides an otherwise-high average, because a single gate-triggering gap shouldn't hide behind the stages that run clean. Where something is short, the fix-first row names it — here, "Stage 3, Authorization: your weakest leg. Work section 3 of the Fix-It Runbook.".
Grades the path from marks you set about your own store. It does not test a live checkout or predict what any agent or platform will do.
